In 1804, French Masons crafted a ritual for the Scottish Rite, which is used in very few U.S. grand lodges but widely practiced internationally. Albert Pike printed a Scottish Rite Craft ritual in 1872, intending it for the Southern Jurisdiction's rituals. He also published a "Liturgy" in 1878, but few copies survive.These materials were solely for study, not for use in any Grand Jurisdiction. Pike emphasized that the Blue Degrees' conferment was the grand lodges' exclusive privilege. After discovering unauthorized exemplification in 1892, the Supreme Council recalled all copies of the Scottish Rite's Craft rituals.This special reprint contains Pike's original material, including the ritual, liturgy, and "secret work."
